This ceramic vase is hand-built using the coiling method and finished with a striking blue underglaze. The surface is adorned with a carved illustration depicting a bustling fresh market scene in Mong Kok. The imagery captures the lively energy of vendors and shoppers amidst an array of produce and goods, celebrating the everyday vibrancy of Hong Kong’s local culture.

This vase is part of a larger collection titled Fragments of HK, where each piece tells a story found while wandering through the streets of Hong Kong. Together, the collection captures a mosaic of the city’s everyday life—scenes that may often go unnoticed but are deeply rich in cultural significance.

Techniques
