Hermès Window Autumn 2025
2025
For Autumn 2025, this series of window displays explores travel as a poetic construction, situated between drawing and reality. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machine sketches, the installations reinterpret movement through hybrid forms that are part animal, part invention. Each window introduces a mechanical creature built from delicate, skeletal frameworks. Bamboo structures and translucent, paper-like skins echo the lightness of hand-drawn lines, as if the machines have lifted directly from a sketchbook. Trees become vehicles, fish drift through branches, birds transform into chariots, and horses pause mid-motion with wings outstretched, suspended between intention and imagination.

The theme
The theme for the year, le Dessin, is interpreted here as a sketch coming to life. Drawing is seen as the moment where imagination begins to take shape, where improbable ideas, strange inventions, and half-formed thoughts start to become real. In this project, the windows feel like drawings that have escaped the page.
