This ceramic vase is hand-built using the coiling method and finished with a vibrant blue underglaze. The surface features a carved illustration inspired by a classic Hong Kong cha chaan teng. The imagery captures a typical dining scene alongside the iconic geometric tile patterns often found in these spaces, evoking a sense of nostalgia and cultural identity.
This vase is part of a larger collection titled Fragments of Hong Kong, where each piece tells a story found while wandering through the streets of Hong Kong. Together, the collection captures a mosaic of the city’s everyday life—scenes that may often go unnoticed but are deeply rich in cultural significance.
